Celadon porcelain jug - Ashley Howard
Can anyone help please, the nearest I can find to the mark is Ashley Howard but not exactly as the book. Or is it home made? Thanks for any help.

Re: ASHLEY HOWARD
... but the work doesn't look like anything I have seen by him.
I believe that he hasn't been using porcelain for very long and the examples that I have seen have bright colours splashed on them.
So I'm doubtful it's by Ashley Howard.
You could email him to get a definitive answer.

They are mostly colourful pieces , but there is a teaset that is quite plain .

Re: ASHLEY HOWARD
Potters are a friendly breed and Ed pointing out the teaset, which I hadn't seen, makes it more likely to be his jug.

Re: ASHLEY HOWARD
Maybe too soon to expect a reply, but haven't received one as yet.
Ed, I did see that tea set and the jug shape is almost identical, also have seen the mark on one of Ashley's tea bowls and it has a shallower topped A just like mine.
So I definitely thinks its Ashley's work. (even if he says it isn't)

Yes you have to give them time to give an answer , I agree if you don't get the result you want from a potter just tell them they are mistaken and you know better ( remember the true mesiah always denies that he is )

Re: ASHLEY HOWARD
Cool, they make so many they're bound to forget the odd one or two
He's probably busy as he's got an exhibition in a week or so in ST Ives I think, it's on his web site.

Ashley Howard has put his mark on his website, so I'm confident this is the same mark.
