StonewarePlaque with pressed cockerel, made from very coarse gritty clay.
Mark looks like MXF or MF.

Could be any of these - complicated mark. Thank you for looking.
I’m thinking 70s maybe Scandinavian or N European with the gritty clay.
Am I on the right track?
I’d love to know the maker as it’s a good arty piece.

Yes, I think Northern European is most likely. Maybe even Greece or Cyprus
