Hi. Please help me identify this Signed vase with a Lava or Cratered Pitted Glaze. Please also advise on how to correctly describe it. LOL.
It is about 9" Tall X 5.75" Diameter and Weighs about 3 pounds. I am in the United States if that helps.

Wow! Thank you all very much for your quick and extremely useful replies! It certainly looks like an ant and that points me to both ant and initials ANT or A n' T. Could be ant in another language such as formica in Italian or ameise in German or formiga in Portuguese. I will also look at ovse or ovie too in case it was stylized to look like an ant. It does look like some kind of writing around the shoulder, but I have not made it out and it may just be decoration.You folks are great. Really opened this up for me!

I stumbled upon the mark in The Marks Project. The ant mark belongs to potter Neal Townsend, 1934 to 2002.
