It doesnt strike me as Oriental. The marks on the base might be glaze and firing marks, eg, Fe for Iron.
Maybe a KM monogram at the top.

Reminiscent of Waistel Cooper but no signature, though if it was a test piece he probably wouldn't sign it anyway; there is what could be an incised M at the top of the base in the middle picture. Perhaps Metadadaist has an opinion?

We originally did think Waistel Cooper-like, although I had since forgot this... Thank you for reminding me. There are so many marks - almost too many for a finished piece so yes maybe a test piece/firing notes. Interesting - thank you
