Re: DL or ED mark? David Lane?
Ed thought this was by David Lane, Abington Pottery, because of the DL stamp and he’d bought it along with a slab vase by Lane, but I’ve not found a pot by Lane with a stamp. His personal DL mark was usually painted or incised. So I’ve split it from the main thread.

David Lane used a painted AP -for Abington Pottery - mark most of the time, I have never seen an impressed personal mark. Quite a lot of them turned up around the Cambridge area, as Abington is just South of Cambridge.

Looks like a partial stamp or a thumb smudge which the potter has written over to try to correct it. It might not even be DL
