It’s an Asian export piece for the gift market. The base is typical of such pieces

I think if it were mass produced for the gift market there would be an example of it somewhere on the internet. I had another expert look also and she could find nothing. It's very heavy.

It may have been a small production run of that particular style.
It's molded, which implies it's mass produced, and it's unsigned, so it's unlikely to be studio pottery.
It doesnt have a manufacturer's stamp so it's unlikely to be by one of the Art Pottery manufacturers like Bitossi or Blue Mountain (and it's the wrong type of clay for them). Plus your expert would have recognized it if it had been by one of the well known manufacturers.
The weight, and base and crackle glaze are typical of pieces made in Asia, but I could be wrong. Unfortunately ebay deletes sold listings pretty quickly so theres less info online these days than there used to be

Thank you for providing more information. She checked a stack of books also, so we ruled out American pottery.
Maybe one day it will crop up somewhere. I have not even found the mold in another glaze anywhere.
Have a good one.
