Well thrown, incised pattern.
Perhaps tenmoku glazing,
S over M impressed mark - can’t see it in book.

It doesnt appear to be in the Marks book. There's a NZ potter Stephen McCarthy with a similar mark

It does look like the same mark. I can’t see any whole pots of his but it could well be his work. Well done.

I’ve just sent a message to the New Zealand pottery site to check if anyone knows. Seems Stephen McCarthy was around potting from the 60s onwards.
