Re: Studio bowl for identification
It is red earthenware, not obvious because the camera flash has bleached the base foot.

The excellence of the decoration, the red earthenware, and that black underneath is a strong indication of Chelsea Pottery. Down the bottom of the dish in the photo. there is a figure that looks a bit like an M. Would that be a signature?

Thanks for the feedback Phil. I was wondering that myself regards the M.
Could be completely wrong, but it doesn't feel at all like Chelsea to me, too light and fine, unlike other Chelsea pieces we own.

And it's not black, the camera flash plays havoc with the colour. I'll try some new images another day, should the sun decide to make an appearance.

Chelsea did do light and fine dishes, but not their usual palette.
There looks to be a deliberately incised mark within the foot.

Re: Studio bowl for identification
I would compare the size and base to Chelsea bowls if only to rule it out

Thanks for the feedback folks
Yes, there's certainly an incised mark to the base.
