Re: A stylised E. Any ideas. Early Edmund De Waal?
I haven't knowingly seen anything by him from before he came back from Japan, after researching his Bernard Leach book, and ripped off the porcelain of Tsubusa Kato that he had seen there.
I know that he made stoneware, so it might well be. The potter, Suleyman Saba, might know, as he shared a studio with de Waal in Woolwich in "stoneware days" and was also taught by Geoffrey Whiting at King's School in Canterbury.

This is a photo of the mark on the base one of the three Edmund De Waal items sold by Cheffins in Cambridge i n2018. They were fairly nondescript production ware pieces and went for a hammer price of £340.
