Charlotte Rhead ( copies )

Hi all

Came across this one marked Crown Ducal Charlotte Rhead

On investigation its a copy , so to make you aware they are out there as i am sure you are all aware.

Shame as its a nice bright jug

Hmm not seen one of these before.
I think it's a straight fake, rather than a copy of any Rhead design.
It doesn't even look to be tube-lined, and neither the shape nor the
pattern look correct either.
The Rhead book makes no mention of the Ducal "Gainsborough"
backstamp being used on Rhead wares.
The Signature is a decent copy of the one used on H J Wood items.

Probably from the same source as those fake Clarice Lotus jugs that
flooded the market a couple of years ago.

I posted as thought as you rightly confirmed it is a copy
