A stoneware pot that looks as if the maker might have seen a Lucie Rie or two.

I thought French but that might be because it is where it was found.

Intriguing piece. Is that mark designed to look a little like Lucie Rie's mark, but not too much? It looks like a game of two halves. The top is rather nice, with that trumpet shape quite elegant. The bottom however looks rather pedestrian. Maybe the two parts were originally seperate and merged?
As you say. 'In the style of'. Someone trying get some of the glamour and prices of Rie, or else made for someone who might like a Rie but can't afford pne?
