V similar to Askrigg Pottery - Andrew Hague.

It's close to Hague's but the dot is in the wrong place and the letters are central in his mark used at Askrigg.

Following on from Naomi's suggestion, it is possible that the jug is an early, pre-Askrigg Hague piece and he altered his mark to differentiate his Askrigg work from his earlier pieces.
ETA - I'm an idiot. Of course it won't be a pre-Askrigg mark by Hague because it is the Askrigg Pottery mark, not Hague's personal one, that Ben was referring to.
