So what Pots do you use as everyday items ?
Having read about Nigel Slater and his pots, it just got me wondering. What pots do you use in your everyday. There are those who use their Walter Keeler Mugs, Phil Rogers Fruit Bowls, Ruthanne Tudball plates etc every day. We have not that courage! Simply too ham handed. So these are the ones we use mostly all the time. Winchcombe and St Ives, with David Cleverly and a hugely useful Michael Skipwith flower vase at the back.

Strangle I like to put some of mine in the oven and whack them up to 140 with a stew in it.
I only use pyrex plates now. They last forever, very hard to chip and they bounce in you drop them on a tiled floor.

Utilitarian. All the handmade plates I used to use have multiple chips. Pyrex is fine. Honestly you can drop them on the tiled floor and then don't smash.

This is the pottery I use every day.
First some black and white Denby - some vintage Eclipse (teapot, jugs, bowls, sideplates, serving dish), recent Everyday plates, and current (well, just discontinued) Denby Jet black and white mugs.
And then some more crafty stuff - all bought directly in the potteries:
* A breakfast bowl from Crail
* A Crich pottery jug
* A small mug by Jenny Mackenzie Reed at North Shore pottery
* a salt pig - bespoke made for me! - by George Young at St Andrew's pottery
And the marks, in case anyone is interested:
Crail bowl:
Crich Jug
North Shore mug
St. Andrew's salt pig
And we shovel and cut things with this cutlery - designed by Arne Jacobsen and used on the spacecraft Discovery in 2001 A Space Odyssey, and on the Starships Enterprise and Voyager.

All so familiar. The Eclipse serving dish is actually for celery, quite rare!
The cutlery I use is Viners "Chelsea" Designed by Gerald Benney in the 1950s. So well desighned and made.

Thanks Denby! I have 8 of those serving dishes - picked up from 2 mixed lots at my local auction house. They are really handy! We often put a square white dish in the middle for hummus and then the dipping stuff round the edge.
