Re: Can anyone help identify this studio piece please ?
A studio pottery piece is broadly defined as completely made by one person. Thrown, decorated and fired. They are individual pieces that reflect the skill and talent of the individual potter. Hence their attraction for collectors, They are affordable unique individual pieces.
Mostly, potters tend to put an individual -usually impressed mark- on their pottery. It helps increase the value. As to this one. It is looks like a studio piece. Well made and with nice glazing. But unless it has a mark/signature it is very difficult to identify it. Without a mark, one is relying on design, anything significant in style and making. Unfortunately, this one does seem to have any such characteristics like that to identify it, A photo of the base would help, as this often reveals further information
