STUDIO POTTERY BOWL - NORA KAY?
Found this rather interesting gouged-cut decoration stoneware bowl with muddy green glaze and drizzle glaze... On very close inspection, it does appear to have a slightly filled in mark which could be a joined NK with a 3 beneath... If it is Nora Kay, I don't see any info about her anywhere?? Anyone help? Thanks

Could be 53 below NK (1953?)

It isn't possible to see the marks that you describe and, even if I could, the first time I can recall reading or seeing the name, Nora Kay, was in this post.
I did find out where you got the name from but for someone, who has been dealing in studio pottery for over 20 years, even if the mark was clear it would be impossible to fully attribute this bowl to her without some other reference. For example, other positive attributions of similar pots or perhaps Nora, a friend of hers or a relation seeing it and believing it was by her.

The mark does look like this... Impossible to photograph though as it's only visible at certain angle, filled in somewhat. I appreciate what you're saying re: attribution, it is quite distinctive in its execution and you would imagine that other similar items exist... But don't seem to be available via the net. Thanks for your response.

The style looks Scandinavian to me; not the style I’d expect from the 60s-70s from British potters

Thanks for that... I'll explore the Scandinavian route.
