SHINO-GLAZED LIDDED JAR Empty SHINO-GLAZED LIDDED JAR

Bit of a long shot. This is a lugged, lidded jar, 6 inches tall, in buff stoneware with a shino glaze. A charity shop find with no provenance and no maker's mark, so it could be by anyone and from anywhere. I think it looks and feels Japanese, but some people on the Facebook Japanese studio pottery group think it's western-made. Any ideas?

I think it may be an American shino glaze rather than Japanese
