Has a look of Ruth Duckworth about it.

Pomegranates are popular in the Mediterranean area

I agree with Johners2000. She worked in metal in addition to pottery which could explain the brass mark on the bottom. In addition, the R looks similar to hers. This could totally be one of her pieces but it’s super cool regardless.

While a really nice piece, I don't think it is Ruth Duckworth. Her R signature is more rounded than the one on here, and on a good deal of her early work she used her inittials only. Have seen a number of her pieces (one of the pleasures of a lot of auction viewing) and not seen anything like this by her. Equally, she left the UK for the USA in the mid 60's, so her work is very rare in this country.

It’s a very well made brass label so I would have thought it would appear on other pieces of pottery or maybe it’s a label taken from another thing and stuck on.
Be great if it was a well known maker but I’ll just keep looking to see what else similar turns up. Thank you for your help!
