It’s an ash glaze on porcelain. Any chance there’s a faint stamp on the base?

I’ve remembered this came with a Victor Margrie label. - Written by the collector who sometimes attributed pots incorrectly. There are similar cut & added to bowls in the V & A (unmarked). Does this sound like a possibility? There are not many pictures of his work online.

I’ve investigated Victor Margrie’s work before but it didn’t seem to be as well made as your piece
