Just found a vase on Ebay and is dated from 1995 - 2002 whether he was in production before this I don't know. (A-Robert-Pooley-stoneware-vase-Blue-purple-drip-glaze-Devon-studio-pottery)

yeah I saw that one but we prefer that members don't link to live auctions as it opens upthe floodgates to promoting sales

Re: Robert Pooley Vase, Devon
Nice piece, Nice photos too!
When one cannot find hardly any reference at all on the web about a potter, it strongly suggests they were doing it in a small way. Usually if a potter is selling in commercial channels the name comes up somewhere.
Its a bit like painters. Huge numbers of people paint, yet relatively speaking, there are a miniscule number of professional painters. A lot of amateur painters show in with Local Groups at Church or village halls, so only sell very locally. Same may well be true here.

Re: Robert Pooley Vase, Devon
do you think the bare clay body was intentional or accidental glaze slippage?

When we first started collecting studio pottery, we lived in Plymouth. In our first year of collecting we had bought John Maltby, David Leach, Roger Cockram. Tim Andrews, Alan Wallwork, Marianne De Trey. Mostly from the Devon Guild.

Thanks NaomiM! So 1997 - 2002 instead of 1995 - 2002.

It happens when you play around with glazes.
