Help with identifying this piece and mark on the base. I have darkened the base as to see the mark more clear, thanks again.

Also many moons back I sold a vase with a similar mark. Is it the same pottery and potter, just a thought.

I don't think this is the same ... but have a look at this mark ... the 'stick on' clay mark is about 1cm diameter/just over .5" ... can you tell me the size of your pot - and the size of the mark?

Thanks for the reply. Very odd marks and not very clear, possibly French or continental.

Hi potterymad62 ... thanks for coming back ... what do you see in the goblet that makes you think it could be French or continental (apart from the fact that I bought it in France!)? And on that note - do you think your pot might be European?

Sorry for confusing you, I was referring to my pot and post. Lovely goblet though.

... No problem.

Hopefully, someone will recognize it and give you the info ... NaomiM is truly an expert on so many ceramics - and I look forward to seeing what she might have to say.

In the meantime if you think your pot could be European, it might be helpful to submit it also onto the French pottery forum http://placedelours.superforum.fr/f9-cramique

Thanks again, yes NaomiM has an excellent knowledge on the subject. Just been looking over my pot again and the more I see looks more like English rather than continental. Will do as you say and check on the French/European side of the forums to see they can shed some light on it, just to be sure Cheers.

Iíve seen a few with this mark, including a whole tea set. Itís very like John Buchananís personal mark in the Marks book. But different from the mark on the porcelain vase in the opening post.

I have just updated the picture of the mark, shaded in with a pencil to show the mark more clear. Looks like a P with over extended tail at the top of the P. Still no clue to the mark or pottery & potter.
