French Vintage Cylinder Vase well marked - Alphonse Cytere UNIS Paris
Hi Folks,
This is possibly a vintage French cylinder vase.
There are three marks on the base:
1. A narrow lozenge stamp with two words - "...US FRANCE"
2. What looks like a pair of parenthisese "[]"
3. A signature stamp - possibly "CA stere"
I do not think the lozenge says "VALLAURIS FRANCE", and I do not know of any French atelier name that ends in "US".
I have searched for French cylinder vases but to no avail.
Please can anyone help?
Please note that it had two small handles (one has broken off).

... the lozenge could, of course, be "PARIS FRANCE". Which would mean trying to find a potter or pottery workshop name that ends in "ere" ... does that make sense? Any ideas, even if it does NOT end in "ere" will be very much appreciated.
