My wife thinks Blue Mountain Pottery or CCC Pottery Canada
Hi, I have had this on display for many years at home and my wife thinks it's Blue Mountain or CCC. I thinks it's a lot older and I'd love to prove her wrong as she is usually always right on everything else. I don't thinks it's Blue Mountain because it looks like it's handcrafted and is heavy and not molded and light like Blue Mountain usually is. I also thinks it could be 18th/19th century

I’ve not come across a anything like it, but you’re right that it’s not Blue Mountain or CCC.
The part glazed base and style of figure points to an early 20thC potter.
Are there any marks?

Hi thanks for your reply NaomiM. I have looked very closely at the base and there doesn't seem to be anything on. As the cherub and cart are on an unusual base the nearest things I could find with similar shaped bases are Chinese Sangsai horses and Staffordshire cow creamers. Perhaps you may know of any other ornaments that have similar bases

I’m afraid I’ve not seen anything like it before. Best guess is an Italian design and a Vallauris glaze

Blue Mountain was earthenware, and cherubs were not their style.
