Pair of Art Nouveau (design) vases - appears to have two marks
Good afternoon all.
Please see the pair of vases below: they are slightly different colours and are Art Nouveau in design.
Whilst I can see a few possible makers in Yates-Owen/Fournier for each of the pair of initials, I haven't found the combination of both.
Does anyone recognise the make(s) of these vases?
Thank you for your help.
Jack

Hi, I've just seen a jug on Ebay with the identical design as your vases but it has a different base mark. The sellers id is mrz hope this helps.

Hmm Art nouveau is pushing it a bit. This is 100 years later.

Denbydump, I'm not suggesting for one moment that these are Art Nouveau vases...just that they are art nouveau in design.
Thank you potty, I will have a look on eBay.
Hi Naomi, agreed...I couldn't find the marks in my potters marks book either. Frustrating!

well the jury's out on that. MP is probably Mxxxxx Pottery, with the potters monogram.
So 1970s, reminiscent of the Crich pottery trees. Also looks very Shelf like?

No, it's not Crich, just that they did use the drippy trees motifs on their pottery,
but it was originally popularised by Moorcroft, which would be the Nouveau
connection.
The body and colour is reminiscent of Shelf pottery.

Many thanks denbydump...that was useful...and amusing (a good succinct definition by Pothead)! Made me smile...not bad for this time in the morning!

Some fine examples of Moorcroft trees are shown here.

I've had some more thoughts on your vases I think they're 1960's/70's and they look like Tremar Pottery, Shelf Pottery, Lois Hudson Pottery even though I don't think they are by them.

Many thanks Pottyal, I'll have a virtual 'rummage' through your suggestions.
