Stoneware Salt and Pepper - trident mark? - Ray Gardiner?

Had these a while but never investigated the marks - looks lto me like a m i mark but i may be wrong... does anyone recognise

i suppose it could be a n i ?

They couldnt be by Joan Motley ?? mark looks a bit similar to the example in the Marks book but it says it's painted or incised
