Bought as red art glass vase but is it glass?
I bought this large vase at auction described as glass but I can't tell if it's glass or some kind of acrylic. It's not as heavy as I would expect glass to be as it is very tall.
It does 'ring' but maybe acrylic makes a ringing sound too. I know glass is meant to feel colder but I can't tell from that. Is there a way of identifying the material - apart from breaking it! Anyone got one like it or any ideas?

I think plastic should float in water, glass doesn't.
Plastics scratch easily also.

I'll try floating it! Thanks both for replying.

Use a hot pin, the float test will not be conclusive
