Brass Umbrella or Walking Stick Holder - Arts and Crafts?

Found this cool solid brass umbrella or walking stick/cane holder and I am hoping to find out how old it might be. I called it 'Arts and Crafts' mostly because of the handles but just guessing.
It measures 18" tall and is 8.5" in diameter. It has two 3" long brass spear-point style decorative handles with a 1" knob-like protrusion on each one which holds 2.25" oval brass rings. Each handle is attached from the inside with two single slot screws. The top and bottom have a beaded edge trim. I have looked it over closely and can't find any marks or numbers. It is in very good condition (some typical wear for a vintage piece) and it has an original patina. It weighs over 5 lbs.
Any thoughts to how old it might be or the style? I live in the desert so there is usually very little need for an umbrella holder but maybe I'll use it as a trash can for my office.

Quite often items this shape are made from old ammunition shells. If it had a darker patina I’d suggest World War 1 ‘trench art’ but I think this is later.

Thank you. I know nothing about ammunition shells but 18.5" tall x 8.5" diameter seems big.
