Odd Easter Lidded Bowl Egg - Palissy - Yardley - Italian - German? 4883/7
HI All
Had this one tucked away for Easter. There is a mark on the base but not legible and impressed code number of 4883/7.
At first I thought it would probably be a Yardley talcum Powder Easter release but not so sure now.
Approximately 11 by 8 by 7 cm high (could be the height is for the /7 code). Funny how they used an egg yolk yellow for the base.

I think it was probably made by Schmider/Zell am Harmersbach and the stamp should read GALLO and show a cock.
Gallo was a mark from the trading company Everhan & Sohn (later the Gallo mark belonged to Villeroy & Boch).
They provided items (editions of glass and ceramic objects) from german and from foreign companies and put the Gallo label on them.
I have an egg cup from Schmider with Gallo stamp with a similar number 4863, here some pics of it:
