Teapot with multiple faces - Japanese Banko ware

I don't know if this is Chinese or Japanese or neither?

It looks like it was made in the last 100 years and is missing it's bamboo handle - very thinly potted.

Any clues?

May have had a simple wire handle, but even so, you can still buy replacement bamboo handles

i previously posted this on a different forum, someone hinted at it being maybe old japanese Banko ware

was wondering if anyone here had an opinion or theory

I’ll move this to ID My Pottery. All the other pottery groups are for identified pieces and used for reference. I’ll move it back if & when it’s IDed.

It certainly looks Japanese.

i forgot to say its got 4 different faces, with shared eyes

Unless it can hold a sponge in the lid, I don't think it's a tobacco jar.
