Gustavsberg Argenta
I've recently started collecting Gustavsberg Argenta and noticed that most pieces are in the green mottled glaze. Are the other colours more or less attractive in terms of collectability/value? My latest acquisition is a dish in deep oxblood red, 11ins wide, with silver inlay of a sea serpent intertwined with a snake. I can't find anything similar online but I'm aware that rarity and value don't always go hand-in-hand!

Re: Gustavsberg Argenta
To be honest I've never come across a red one, only the green ones. Beautiful :) Since value would be governed by popularity, rarity and condition, I can see this being worth more than the green versions, even if, over all, the Argenta range isn't as popular as it once was - I've finally been able to afford a couple of small green bowls which used to be out of my price range.
I'll merge this thread with our main Gustavsberg one in due course

Re: Gustavsberg Argenta
Good find! Great size and lovely condition. I found a small red pin dish in a charity shop a few years ago. Fairly boring design, but as far as I can recall it did much better on eBay than an equivalent green one would have done.

Hi 22 - if I may be so bold as to call you by your first name!
Here's the back.
I've also loaded a couple of photos of another piece I have that I haven't seen elsewhere; any comments/info welcome!

Re: Gustavsberg Argenta
They are both good pieces Revel I had a look on ebay and I'm sure it's the Wilhelm Kåge pieces that will go like hot cakes.
I'm assuming that the B. is a makers mark?
