Re: Bowie Collector Auction at Sotheby's
he did indeed....terrific stuff..the Glynn Williams Acrobats was amazing...and i loved the early Alexander Mackenzie
I wonder how much of this stuff Bowie bought himself..or did an agent.
And whether it was bought for profit or love
Btw..The Nevenson was great too...and not everything was very expensive

I understand he bought what he liked and he did have the money to not care if it went up in value.

Re: Bowie Collector Auction at Sotheby's
The Bernard Leach Leaping Salmon vase went for £26,000 + commission apparently.
Now is that Bernard or Bowie celebratory stardust????

Re: Bowie Collector Auction at Sotheby's
The "Leaping Deer" tile went for £13,000 (est. £800 - £1200) so I suspect the identity of the previous owner had something to do with it.

All the low end stuff like the lamps went for x10 estimate.
Red typewriter - Estimate 300 — 500 Lot Sold 45,000 GBP
His fans would be elerdly now and apparantly not short of a bob or two.
