Small Sgraffito Pattern Studio Vase - W mark - Pantasaph Pottery?
Hello, I bought this small vase at a yard sale recently. It is decorated with golden brown slip with sgraffito decoration cut into it.
It stands almost 4" tall. There is an impressed mark to the base - possibly a W or M, or maybe even an E in a rectangle.
Can anyone help identify the potter?
I had thought about Mollie Winterburn, but it doesn't seem quite right for her - most pieces were unglazed.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks, Clare

Came across another Slipware pot today with the same mark. Looks similar to one on a pot stamped Iona. Gordon Menzies potted on Iona but in stoneware.

Hi Naomi, it's great to get a little additional info after so long. Thanks - I'll see what else I can find about Gordon Menzies. Clare

I think your first thought was right - Mollie Winterburn

Came across a slipware dish with both the W and Iona stamps so more likely by Gordon Menzies unless Mollie potted there too?

Edited to add, found this one. St Pantasaph Pottery has also occasionally had a W mark, so possibly a potter who trained there.
