Pewter card tray - ? WMF Empty Pewter card tray - ? WMF

I'm sure this is pewter . No mark other than a ? pattern number.

Can anyone tell me if WMF ( don't ask me to spell it in full!) always mark their pieces ? Any other thoughts gratefully received . Thanks

WMF pieces are ususally marked, often with a tiny mark, sometimes in odd places!

I think this may be French though.

Definitely not WMF with the number on the base.
