Hi

I'm reading this as Bow Church in Devon anyone know what the BP stands for is it just Bow Church Pottery?

Is that Bristow linked to the Malta Bristow, as there were other Maltese BP pieces next to this piece in the sale?

Yes, Tony Bristow did move to Malta for a while, due to business incentives offered by the Government of Malta.

That said, I think production of "Bristow Pottery" continued in Malta after Tony Bristow moved back to the IoW.

Edited to say: Decoration is very similar to that of Tony Bristow, Chillington. Although the writing is similar to his son Andrew Bristow. Both potted at Bonchurch, albeit almost 10 years apart, so I think Andrew initially copied his father's style before finding his own. So I've left these Bonchurch pots on Andrew's thread but with the proviso that they may be by his father.

I have convinced myself that the signature says "Anthony Bristow Bonchurch ' but it doesn't look like any of the pottery associated with his name. Am I barking up the wrong tree ?
