Slim vase by Jaap Dommisse, (Netherlands)
Apart from books, my only acquaintance with Raku is from watching 'The Great Pottery Throw Down', which I personally found very informative, but this certainly has the look and texture of Raku. Given the numbering on the base, I assume it's a test firing?
Happy to be corrected, I know I still have an enormous amount to learn.
It stands about 190mm tall.
Any idea as to the potter? A student piece, perhaps?
All the best,
Greenie

It's not Raku, but more like swirled chamotte, like on this Gunnar Nyland vase.

Hmmm, chamotte?
Some more reading needed here.
Thanks again, denby.

Could it be Jaap Dommisse, who used that technique?

Definitely Jaap Dommisse:

And it looks like you were correct, denby: chamotte!
Thanks to everyone who viewed the post and helped identify the maker.
It seems he's an important figure in Dutch ceramics.

Thanks for the ID. Had a fun time educating myself about chamotte. Still don't know what "swirled" chamotte is all about...maybe one day.
