Does anyone know the origins of this chair?

There is a little brown paper label on the bottom with the words
inspection

check
dispatch

Stylistically, I think I would place it more towards the early 50s,
having similarities to Earnest Race designs of the period.

Thank you so much for the information. I have checked out Ernest Race and found an identical chair so it is definitely by him. Probably late 1940's to mid 1950's. I am going to get it professionally upholstered as it is a metal frame underneath, and way beyond me. It is in very good condition so hopefully will just need new covers.

I was going to suggest a metal frame if you took it apart.
Any padding will probably need changing to modern fire regs,
