Stephen Parry
These days I don't buy as much pottery as in the past but I thought that I ought to start this thread, as last year during a visit to Norfolk we called in on the potter, Stephen Parry.
Stephen trained at Dartington in the late 1970s and since 1981 he has been making stoneware plus some porcelain pots that he wood fires at his pottery at Little Ryburgh near Fakenham.
He's his mark
Entwined S and P with a dot.

Re: Stephen Parry
The mark looks like the indistinctive mark on the cup/mug that I use for my coffee and that came directly from Stephen...... so I think you are right.
I even stood it up, as it had fallen over.

Thank you - should have checked picture first!
Unfortunately researching this bargain pot has just led me to lots of other (non-bargain) Stephen Parry pots I’d love to own - so will turn out to be not so much of a bargain!

He isn't expensive for what he makes but I suspect coming across them in the secondary market is going to mean that you will get them at a good price. Not everyone adjusts to making the jump to buying pots at the market price but maybe you will.

Re: Stephen Parry
Oh, in “normal” times I do buy lots of pots (too many!) at market price, preferably direct from the potter but also from Contemporary Ceramics, Earth and Fire, Oxford ceramics fair etc - but only in person and with a chance to handle and get a feel for them first, and of course that’s off the cards at the moment . Buying pots on spec from a photo and hoping they are interesting is a poor substitute, but better than nothing!
