SP Mark - Chris Sansome, Pontfadog Wales

Bowl from Pontfadog Pottery. The dips between the ridges are finger width making it lovely and tactile.

Stamped on base: Pontfadog Clwyd Wales.
The indistinct impressed mark on the edge is S.P

9" diameter, 4" high

A beaker or vase.
Design on front, plain on the back. 3.75 inches tall

This teapot was part of a mixed lot I bought at auction yesterday. I'm having trouble reading the poorly impressed name to the base, thought Porthmadog Pottery but doesn't seem like any of the usual examples I can find online.

I was looking for a pottery beginning with S but it seems to be Pontfadog Pottery.

but there is no indication as to what the initial SP stand for.

Hi noticed the question about the SP mark on this Pontfadog Pottery.
The owner was my best friends brother in law, when i was in secondary school in the mid 70,s.
We used to visit often and i think the marking may mean Sansome Pottery. The owner was Chris Sansome ( hope the spelling is correct!)
He later married a Japanese girl and sold the pottery in the mid eighties and moved to Japan.
I think he came from Reading originally, and was a really nice guy!..
