Two small china? ceramic? bird figures - unknown markings - please help

Hello all
I have 2 small bird figures (pictures included). They feel like they could be either china or ceramic.
They have some marks on their bases that I don't recognise and after extensive online research have not had any luck.
Can anyone help identify the maker/studio please?
The markings look of Far Eastern origin possibly?
They each have a tiny hole in the base.
The birds each measure approx. 3.75" x 2.5" x 2.5" and have a combined weight of approx. 270g.
