Not sure if the mark is TT or F backwards F or TH or HT. Anyone have an idea? Or is it simply another difficult to identify USA studio pottery piece?

I'm not seeing much in the way of Japanese influence in this piece. Seems to be in a similar style to simple and functional US farmstead-style pottery/stoneware. Maybe start there.
