I'm assuming this is not to be confused with St Neots pottery, Cambidgeshire.

The Label says no Naomi.
Never seen these labels before, sort of thing they have in France
for local produce like cheese and beers. Some research may come
up with a rough date.

The scheme is still active.
http://www.cornwall.gov.uk/business/trading-standards/made-in-cornwall-scheme/
Though the labels now say "Cornwall Council" rather than "Cornwall County Council"
But the pottery isn't shown on the current list.

st neot
I haven't been to St Neot for a couple of years or so. I found a sign pointing to a pottery but when I asked someone they said it no longer exists.
Useless information:
Useless information:
- it is a lovely village
it has some spectcularly old stained glass in the church
my pedantic Cornish friend always insists on pronouncing it St "Neat"

I guess another short-lived craft pottery. Can any Cornwall experts tell us when
Cornwall County council changed to just Cornwall council?

2009 - but I guess such labels would have continued to be used until they ran out.

Funny no "cornwall" always a seller, but nice to have a firm date.

I have moved into the Chapel that was the St Neot pottery. I have been given a few items by the daughter of the potters that lived here. They have a history room in the village that she donated the history of the chapel too. The couple were well known in the village and it is fascinating to hear their story. One incredible fact is that Jack Greenwood, who threw the pots was formally in the R Navy. He and Penny bought and transformed the chapel, adding the pottery. Only, Jack was blind, which is remarkable that he threw the pots. Penny decorated them. They had a large market for their pots in New Zealand. The chapel has tiles that she and her daughter have illustrated in the kitchen and bathroom. Once the history room is accessible I hope to find out more.

That is fascinating, Its lovely to have a history of a pottery that does not seem to be anywhere on the Internet. Thanks!
