When I first saw this I thought it was ceramic!!! Metal is possibly steel and sprayed (?) black and copper  - I know nothing about metals as you can guess. I think its very stylish and has a Scandinavian vibe - or even Russian.

Does anybody have any ideas on its origin, maker ( see mark) and approx age.    30cm high

We've had one of these before (this one?). I dont think it was ID-ed, but there was a suggestion it was Russian.

I think it's Russian, not Scandinavian.

After further investigation I'm pretty sure that it is Russian and represents a woman wearing a headdress similar to a Kokoshnik ( A traditional folk headdress worn by women and girls in the northern regions of Russia in the 16c -19c. Worn with a long trapeze- shaped pinafore called a Sarafan. Still worn as traditional Russian folk costume)
Now sold !!

currently one for sale on Etsy : Soviet vintage candlestick - woman in Russian folk costume. The seller is in the Ukraine so i guess they would know for certain that it is Russian!
