A large charger with slip? edge decoration, the mark is a simple square, any ideas?

Looks more like stoneware, rather than terracotta SP.
Like Doulton Silicon ware.

You're probably right in saying that it is stoneware but I did see a Watcombe piece in a charity shop yesterday, which had a very light grainy earthenware body and it was that which made me suggest Watcombe.

is it actually a charger?  is the inner rim/lip quite raised? if so, could it be the base for a cheese dome??? If so, i'm thinking perhaps Minton
