Small bowl signed IMM Empty Small bowl signed IMM

Far from perfect, but is that because the potter has worked quickly or because it's a student piece? Seems to be decorated by a confident hand, but turned by a student.
Mark appears to be MM or IMM

The mark suggests a hobby potter but the throwing looks competent. It looks like an early attempt at using wax resist to decorate that has quite worked.

The potter's used their fingers and finger tips to apply the wax resist. I did wonder if the mark was Japanese...?

Not Japanese and probably not the best way to apply the wax although I don't pot so what do I know.  Shrugs

The mark looks a bit 'messy' which makes me think it might be oriental, eg, http://www.pinterest.com/pin/175077504238929078/ - but it was only a passing thought.

There is currently a bowl with hare decoration on you-know-where signed MW for Michelle Cowmeadow. I'm wondering if this is one if her's too, even though the mark looks more like MM
