I have looked a leach pottery ( I'm new to pottery ) and compared to my mug / tankard many have that same swirl on the bottom of the handle. So it's someone who trained there are we thinking??
I glared at it for ages thinking is it br , rr , bpr But ultimately ended up here just as confused.

I haven’t seen a complete photograph of your tankard but some of the tankards produced at Leach (old Leach) do have the swirl at the bottom of the handle but the most important evidence are the two marks together ie the impressed personal potters mark together with the impressed St Ives Leach mark which are evidenced on some of the pots.
Conclusion the potter worked at some stage at the Leach pottery but the problem is …..so did a lot of potters and to date the potter hasn’t been identified.

Yes, it’s someone who trained at Leach Pottery. The mark is found with the Leach stamp
