Thanks Naomi, I did think that myself but wasn't sure so thought it would be worth popping on here for experienced eyes to peruse. Reminded me a bit of Moffat pottery with the swirly type design but think it's nicer because of the wax resist glaze.

The shape and brown glaze and internal colour looks very like Marazion pottery, Cornwall, but I don't recall them doing wax-resist decoration. Their decoration was sgraffito and coloured glazes. However, it is marked M on the base, so worth checking out.
