925 silver buttons

   

bough a lot of buttons today and found these 925 silver ones with an unknown age and origin in that huge collection ...
i don't know the purpose as well... uniform?
or from garbs?
any knowledge or any idea would be great help...
the look like being handmade...

The ones on the left with the loop, I've seen on the inside of jackets (both civilian and military wear), to stop the thread attaching the heavier jacket buttons on the front from pulling through and leaving a hole in the cloth.

actually i never had a closer look at them

I have a copy of a little Shire book on buttons, but it's packed away until the plumber's finished in the room. As soon as I can dig it out I'll see if there's any mention of silver buttons.
