Whitefriars? Probably Murano
My best guess would be Whitefriars as I've seen quite a few similar "bubble glass" items, the ruby red is there too. The item on the picture is either an ash tray, a bowl or a massive (3 1/2'' x 6'') paperweight.
There are three different colours and layers, first is this transparent glass with air inclusions, then the gold lining and the ruby red at the end. There are quite a few scuff marks to the base too.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Simon

Looks to be c.1950s Murano. Can't help with pinning it down to a specific factory, though.

Yes! Thank you, I've found a bit similar one that recently have been sold on ebay, that one is green though. I'm guessing it's an ashtray then.
Thanks again.

I would go with bowl unless it has specific dips for cigarettes. Bowl's sell ashtrays don't

Agree with you Davee, for some strange reason smoking is not cool any more
It's just the way it is formed made me think it could be an ashtray, I mean the waves at the rim, however I'm not sure if that would support the cigarette... You convinced me, it is a bowl

Re: Whitefriars? Probably Murano
These days they're small bowls or pin dishes.
