Signed Studio Vase, leaf mark
I think it's a long shot but I'll take the chance posting the vase. Even when no one could make an ID on a piece I've posted I've had a lot of luck being pushed in the right direction here by the boardies.
This 7.5" vase, with the glaze so thick and glossy I thought it was glass at first. The flower is stamped into the clay but again , the glaze being thick it almost looks as if the daffodil was painted on.
The piece is very heavy for it's size at 2.9 lbs . it has a lot of crazing in the glaze
Perhaps someone recognizes the signature and studio mark
Thanks!

Re: Signed Studio Vase, leaf mark
Do you think the daffodil could be sgraffito rather than stamped?

Hi NaomiM yes to your first question, the second Im not so sureI have a hard time with monograms and initials as I can look at them any which way and still can't ever decipher them. I'm not so sure it's WS as I've turned the vase and looked at it many different ways. I will start a search using WS and see where it takes me.

Re: Signed Studio Vase, leaf mark
What about it possibly being Roy & Sandie Yoder's Oakleaf Pottery in Pennsylvania?

I check their work and it is typical of the US northwest country wares. I dont think it fits their style of pottery. This vase might be another piece one just can't identify. It's pretty.
Thank you

The oakleaf mark fits though. Worth emailing them in my opinion. Potters generally don't seem to mind, as long as you don't pester them too often.

Re: Signed Studio Vase, leaf mark
I heard back from Roy and it's not his piece. He gave me another lead but it was no good. Thanks anyway for the looks.
