Nicely glazed shallow bowl - Faune? Faure? France? Empty Nicely glazed shallow bowl - Faune? Faure? France?

Shallow bowl or side plate.
17.5cm diameter. 4cm tall

Anyone recognise the word/signature on the back? Looks like Faine or Fauce to me, but neither are throwing up a potter/pottery on google.

It looks a bit French to me, and I see that there's a potter near Toulouse called Eric Faure: http://www.ericfaure.com/en/. Your bowl doesn't look all that much like the current stuff on his website, but maybe it's possible that this could be earlier work of his?

Cheers. I was wondering if it could be French because of the colour of the clay and the French-sounding signature.
Or possibly Irish?
