Malcolm Leland for Architecural Pottery? Empty Malcolm Leland for Architecural Pottery?

Post by elizaob8 July 10th 2013, 1:12 pm

I believe this is a Malcolm Leland planter, yet there is no AP mark on the interior. There is however a impressed USA mark on the bottom. Does anyone know if his work was only signed USA?

Thanks for your help,
Beth

There are several Malcolm Leyland planters of this shape on Google images. Some seem to have an ink stamp. It's possible this stamp can become worn or fade and disappear.
Although it looks very like his work, and probably is by him, without a mark or good provenance there will always be a question mark hanging over it. You really need another one to compare it with, side by side, to be sure.
